The year 2025 witnessed the consolidation of Mutua Universal’s personnel management model, a model centred on the development of internal talent, streamlined organisation, collaborative work, new roles, digital culture and the transformation of workspaces, with a focus on connecting people, transforming the way we work and supporting the organisation’s progress.

At the end of the last financial year, the mutual insurance company’s intellectual capital – the driving force behind the organisation – stood at 2,074 professionals, 98 per cent of whom were on permanent contracts.

Work-life Balance and Equality

A healthy work-life balance is a key factor that Mutua Universal regards as a priority for its employees’ wellbeing.

Over the past financial year, the organisation continued to implement the work-life balance measures set out in its collective agreement, in internal collective agreements and in the Third Equality Plan.

Mutua Universal’s workforce benefited from 2,809 work-life balance measures and social benefits during 2025.

Third Equality Plan

With a view to continuing to work on equality as a strategic priority across the board within the mutual insurance company, ensuring equal treatment and the elimination of any inequality in the workplace, Mutua Universal boasts an Equality Plan with a total of 116 measures, which is included in the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy’s Registry and Repository of Collective Agreements, Collective Labour Agreements and Equality Plans.

Furthermore, the organisation has an LGBTIQ+ Plan and a Digital Detox Protocol, which reinforce its commitment to a more inclusive and mutually responsible working environment, in line with the latest regulatory and cultural requirements.

Training and Talent

Mutua Universal’s training model focuses on developing internal talent and responsible leadership, continuously improving their skills, and designing training pathways aligned with the organisation’s strategies.

Through accessible, flexible training models tailored to different professional contexts, in 2025 the organisation’s staff benefited from more than 104,000 hours of training delivered through 939 training programmes, 80.4 per cent of which were developed in-house using virtual or blended learning methodologies, which helped to improve work-life balance and alignment with organisational needs.

The mutual insurance company’s healthcare team has at its disposal a group of in-house trainers who enhance teaching activities as part of their professional development in the healthcare sector through customised training programmes.

Internal Talent

WomenCEO Awards

Mutua Universal was honoured at the second edition of the WomenCEO Awards for Good Corporate Governance in Diversity, organised by the WomenCEO association, for “its firm commitment to managing diverse talent in order to build a more innovative, inclusive and collaborative organisation – an initiative that promotes and strengthens female leadership, through the organisation’s own corporate governance strategy via initiatives such as the declaration on respect for the individual and their diversity, and the 25–27 Strategic Plan, which addresses the challenges of the coming years under the motto ‘Innovation at the service of people’”.

Best article at the National Congress of the Spanish Society for Occupational Traumatology

Mutua Universal won the award for the best article in the journal SETLA at the 24th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Occupational Traumatology 2025 for its paper “Rehabilitation treatment for lumbar disc herniation.

ASLAN Awards for Digital Transformation in Public Administration

Mutua Universal’s “RPA, the digital companion” project has been recognised as the best initiative in “Digital transformation in public administration” in the category Automation: RPA and chatbots at the 17th edition of the Aslan Digitalisation Awards, an organisation that recognises success stories in digital transformation within the public sector across the country.
